Steam Trap Audit
It is common to expect 15% of a steam trap population to be malfunctioning at any given time (15% is based on an approximate 7-year steam trap life span). However, this can be dramatically higher in systems that have not had regular attention. Stop wasting steam from traps that are blowing through. Improve heat transfer in your process by finding blocked traps. We will provide a payback guide to help you justify the expense of this steam trap audit. Steam traps can fail at any time, protect your facility with a semi-annual or annual audit.
How it Works
Our steam trap auditing service will determine if they are blowing through, leaking, or blocked.
- Inverted Bucket Traps
- Disk Traps
- Thermostatic Traps
- Float traps
- Orifice Traps
No need to wait until your process is down to check your traps; this audit is done while you are in operation.
On Call Support Options

We understand the complexity of industrial electrical systems and our expert assessment can quickly get your facility running again with onsite support whenever requested including nights, weekends, and on an on-call basis. Your Interstates technician also has access to Interstates’ 24-hour technical support team.
What You Get
Interstates utilizes a steam trap management tool that is placed on each trap that is audited. This tool detects the vibration and steam pressure temperature of the trap and compares it to the specifications of the trap to determine its current operating condition. It then stores all of the information in a database which is used to generate a comprehensive report for turnover after the audit is complete.
