Interstates delivered a greenfield seed facility for Curtis & Curtis Seed, integrating automation, electrical engineering, electrical construction, and instrumentation through a design-build approach. The project included automating new and existing motors and devices, with a control system supporting approximately 179 traditional I/O across 117 devices and control of 39 motors. By delivering a fully integrated automation and electrical solution, the team improved operational efficiency and system reliability. Key Scope Components

Prefabricated PLC Control Panel:

Interstates’ prefabrication team designed and built a custom main PLC panel to house the CompactLogix and control hardware, helping the project meet the client’s schedule.

Automation and Control Systems: 

The automation team logged over 800 hours delivering HMI development, control system programming, user acceptance testing, and client training.

Operational Efficiency Enablement: 

Automating the greenfield facility improved system reliability and enabled more efficient operations during peak harvest season.
