Pursuit of Zero
Our Journey to a Stronger Safety Culture
At Interstates, safety is at the heart of everything we do. Our teams take extreme ownership in creating safe, supportive environments, and this guides every project and decision we make. We continuously strive to foster a culture where looking out for one another is second nature. Family is a core value at Interstates, and everyone we work alongside is an extension of our family. Our commitment to our family is what drives us every day to prioritize the well-being of every team member, whether on a job site or behind a desk.
Our people do more than just follow the rules. At every level, we take on the responsibility to do what it takes to ensure zero-injury careers– not just for our team members, but for the team members of our clients and trade partners as well. To do this, we lean on our 3 Pillars of Safety. We believe that caring for one another is everyone’s responsibility. By investing in strong planning and proven processes, we keep our people and their safety at the center of all we do.
Interstates Reaches One Million Hours Without a Recordable Four Times
A million consecutive work hours without a recordable is a rare feat in our industry. Fewer than 100 other contractors have done this in the United States, and Interstates has achieved this safety milestone seven times in the last eight years. This means we had a million working hours safe across all our job sites without a recordable injury. Interstates joins an elite group of construction companies in the United States who have repeated this achievement more than once.
“The Interstates family has proven again that zero is possible. The health and well-being of our family members is number one. We are truly committed to zero.”
