Modular Construction
Interstates works closely with the general contractor and mechanical partners to execute unique project delivery methods that address client needs. Modular construction is a delivery method owners can use to deploy quickly and with a different level of flexibility than traditional building methods. With modular construction, companies may build all or part of their process facility in a prefabricated environment on skids that can be reconfigured as needed to accommodate process changes.
Benefits Of Modular Construction:
Constructed in a Controlled Environment for Quality Control
Cost Controlled with Off Site Labor
Construct Equipment Modules Concurrently with the Building Construction
Move or Relocate Entire Skids as Needed
Replicate Easily for Other Locations
Examples of Modular Construction Implementations:
AUBURN UNIVERSITY POULTRY & ANIMAL NUTRITION CENTER
Interstates completed the electrical construction, control system implementation and startup, and I-Control implementation for Auburn University’s Poultry and Animal Nutrition Center. The modular feed milling facility located in Auburn, AL was completed in partnership with T.E. Ibberson Company. The entire process facility was constructed at a prefabrication facility in Minnesota. The nine individual modules were each sized to be transported by semi-trailer and were transported to Auburn, AL for final installation. On site, Interstates completed final electrical construction and control system implementation.
CALIFORNIA POLYTECHNIC STATE UNIVERSITY
Interstates’ electrical and automation teams installed electrical gear within prefabricated modules for California Polytechnic State University’s feed mill located in San Luis Obispo, CA. The nine modules, each 40 feet long, 8 feet wide and 9 1/2 feet high were constructed by Interstates and T.E. Ibberson Company in Ibberson’s fabrication shop. The modules were shipped to Cal Poly on flatbed trucks and Interstates craftsmen helped install the conduit and wiring and complete final installation at the site.
MOBILE SEED PROCESSING FACILITY
Interstates worked in partnership with general and mechanical contractor teams to install electrical gear, motor control center, and wiring in a mobile process facility for a seed processing company. The process unit is sized to fit a semi-trailer with a self-contained electric room and all process equipment on the trailer. With the mobile facility, the client has the capability to move to where their product is located, process it, and then move on to the next location allowing them the flexibility needed for their process.
