You take safety seriously
So do we. Safety is who we are and what we live by. But let’s be honest, COVID-19 has caused us all to rethink how to keep people safe. So why have some companies responded better to this threat than others? Culture. To keep your facility running smoothly while mitigating the risk of spreading COVID-19, you need to put your trust in a team that has spent decades building its zero-injury safety culture.
Rules don’t keep people safe – culture does
Interstates is proud of its zero-injury culture. Now more than ever we realize that having this steadfast commitment to safety already in place has allowed us to adapt and respond in ways that we never could have even imagined before. It’s also not just about keeping our people safe – it’s about keeping everyone around us safe and healthy.
We’ve learned a lot over the last few months. During this time, we’ve had over 600 craft professionals on multiple job sites across several states. All with similar but different protocols. Before any boots hit the ground, we make sure we can meet any specific protocols you have in your operating plants. Don’t take us wrong, it hasn’t been easy. It’s been a lot of work to navigate this difficult pandemic and although we’ve been working in the same environment as others, we’ve had success keeping people safe.
Operating during a pandemic: How do we do it?
Our COVID-19 Response Team proactively and consistently assesses multiple job sites, adding the necessary procedures to the site-specific safety plan. We adjusted our daily pre-planning process to include COVID-19 precautions and how to best abide by CDC guidelines and regulations. Those items are then added to a site checklist that’s delivered instantly to all projects through our iPads with our COVID-19 app. The app also acts as the hub for updated signage and communicating best practices. We offer online ordering of needed supplies and provide PPE and travel kits to our employees.
Above all, safety and communication are key — and we‘ve activated new procedures quickly and effectively because of our already robust safety culture.
