Western Iowa Energy Project

Interstates recently completed a biodiesel facility expansion for Western Iowa Energy in Wall Lake, IA, delivering electrical engineering, automation, and construction services. The project enhanced the plant’s pretreatment and distillation processes, enabling the use of diverse feedstocks to produce higher-quality biodiesel. Despite supply chain challenges, time zone differences, and multiple shutdowns, Interstates utilized innovative project management tools, effective communication strategies, and regional staffing flexibility to complete the project on schedule.
