What Is Cash for Causes?
Cash for Causes is a year-round, Interstates program that raises funds to support local, non-profit organizations. Through employee giving, Interstates impacts 52 non-profit organizations each year. With a commitment to promoting community awareness and service among our teams, the program provides team members opportunities to donate, learn and get more involved with great organizations.
Our employee-led committee (FC2) asks for organization nominations twice a year. Our team members are passionate about their work in the office and the community. We encourage them to nominate organizations they're involved with, directly affected by, or are passionate about in any of the communities where Interstates serves.
The program's sponsored organizations change each week. Below are this quarter's recipients:
January
Siouxland Adaptive Sports, Iowa
This organization provides youth and adult athletes a place to grow, learn and be part of a team. They have opportunities for athletes to participate in hockey, track and field events, adaptive cheer, and much more.
Crossroads Safe House, Colorado
This organization provides care, advocacy, and support to victims of domestic violence. They offer services like an emergency shelter, legal advocacy, and youth and bilingual advocacy. The team members in this office felt strongly about supporting victims and their families in the Fort Collins community.
The B.A.B.Y. Foundation, Colorado
This foundation has been helping medically under-insured families since 2003. They offer financial assistance for those who have children with various health-related challenges.
Family Crisis Center, Iowa
The Family Crisis Center is a domestic violence service near Sioux Center, IA providing help for people dealing with domestic abuse.
Open Door Mission, Nebraska
They were founded in 1954 and committed to breaking the cycle of homelessness and poverty. Open Door Mission provides shelter, meals, and resources to the Omaha, NE, community.

Hope House, Colorado
This organization provides resources to help teen moms become personally and economically self-sufficient. Their programs are designed to transform the lives of two generations at Hope House.
SHIFT Garage, South Dakota
SHIFT Garage is a local Christian non-profit free labor service garage. Their board reviews every application to determine which applicants have a legitimate need and offer deeply discounted repair services.
Brandon Volunteer Fire Department, South Dakota
Since 1958, BVFD has been responding to accidents, fires, rescue, and medical calls. They have up to forty certified firefighters, and some are even Certified Emergency Medical Technicians.
Reach Out Lakota, Ohio
Reach Out Lakota provides food and clothing to the West Chester and Liberty Townships in Ohio. In addition, they have programs for the communities, including a thanksgiving meal, providing school supplies, and distributing refurbished computers.

United Way of Greater Fort Dodge, Iowa
The United Way of Greater Fort Dodge supports area organizations and agencies that help families become self-sufficient and stable. They also provide resources for youth to have the opportunity to achieve their full potential.
Children’s Home Society, South Dakota
The Children's Home Society of South Dakota is dedicated to providing vital services and support to children and families in need across the state. Through a variety of programs and initiatives, the organization helps children who have experienced trauma, abuse, or neglect to find stability and safety and assists families in building healthy and nurturing relationships.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Midlands, Nebraska
This Big Brothers Big Sisters organization in Omaha, NE, supports mentoring relationships to a Big volunteer and a child.
Family Promise of Lubbock, Texas
Family Promise provides support and temporary shelter to homeless families to empower them for long-term independence.
