Carol of the Offices: Serving During the Holidays

Giving back is a part of Interstates, and it doesn’t stop during the holidays. Through our Engage program, our offices work extra hard to raise money, gather donations, and donate time to support local non-profits. We were able to impact six different organizations across five states this year. Check out how our offices participated and a few of the photos from their time volunteering.

Brainerd, MN Regional Office

Toys for Kids: This program celebrated its 37th year supporting the Crow Wing County families. The community donates toys and gives to families in need. Our Brainerd, MN, office joined the fun when one team member heard about this organization. They shopped and donated toys to the program and helped distribute them to families.

Des Moines & Fort Dodge, IA Regional Offices

Upper Des Moines Opportunity (UDMO): UDMO is located in 12 northwest and north-central Iowa communities. This year, they’ve supported 350 local households with clothing, food, transportation, etc.). Our offices in Des Moines and Fort Dodge, IA, teamed up to donate several items to the food bank during a time when UDMO was low on supplies. They have worked with the organization before and appreciate the mission to support local families.

Fort Collins, CO Regional Office

No Barriers USA Warriors Project: Serving communities across the US, No Barriers support veterans transitioning to civilian life. The Fort Collins, CO, office donated to this program for the first time. They are excited to become more involved with the organization in the future.

Lubbock, TX Regional Office

Women’s Protective Services (WPS)-Lubbock: WPS serves 13 West Texas counties and the women and their children experiencing domestic violence. Our Texas team members donated toys, supplies, and money for the women and children in the shelter. They were excited to raise enough to cover everything on WPS’ wish list!

Manhattan, KS Regional Office

Good Shepherd Homecare & Hospice: This organization provides hospice and home care patients in the Manhattan area. Our team members in Manhattan, KS, put on their aprons and oven mitts to bake Good Shepherd holiday treats. They delivered the goodies for the staff, family members, and patients. One team member previously worked at Good Shepherd and was personally impacted by their services. They were grateful to give back to the organization.

Omaha, NE Regional Office

Open Door Mission: Open Door Mission provides shelter, meals, and resources to the Omaha, NE community. This regional office collected toys and had toy & joy attendants to help distribute toys to local families. They also were able to donate over $800 to the organization. They’re excited to support this organization year after year and support families during the holiday season.

Sioux Center, IA Offices

Hope Food Pantry: Located in Sioux Center, IA, Hope Food Pantry provides free grocery services for those under the poverty line in the community. Hope Food Pantry nearly closed its doors on Thanksgiving due to a lack of volunteers. However, our Sioux Center, IA, team wanted to help ensure Hope Food Pantry could still serve this area. During their Thanksgiving food drive, they served over 100 families. The Sioux Center offices collected a few donations and served at the pantry during their drive.
