2018 ABC of Iowa Awards Banquet

A big congratulations to our very own Austin Schmidt on being named the ABC of Iowa Craft Professional of the Year! This honor recognizes individuals who best embody the ideals of a merit shop craft professional through superior efforts and applied talents. We are very proud to have Austin in the Interstates family.

Congratulations to the Al-Corn Clean Fuel and Tyson Foods, Inc. project teams that received recognition last night at the ABC of Iowa Awards Banquet! The Al-Corn Clean Fuel Project Team was honored with the Award of Excellence in the Electrical (over $10 Million) Category.  The Tyson Foods, Inc. Project Team was also recognized with the Award of Distinction in the Electrical ($1 Million – $5 Million) Category.

The Excellence in Construction awards program is designed to honor innovative and high-quality merit shop construction projects. The award honors all construction team members, including the contractor, owner, architect and engineer. The winning projects, selected from entries submitted from across the state, were judged on complexity, attractiveness, unique challenges overcome, completion time, workmanship, innovation, safety and cost. Both projects will now be entered for the ABC National Awards.

In addition to the project award, Interstates also received the STEP Diamond Award for our Safety Training and Evaluation Process. This is an honor we are especially proud of as it is a testament to our team’s commitment to safety. A big thank you to every member of the Interstates family for the important roles you play in creating a zero-injury culture. Let’s build!
