Larry Den Herder

Larry Den Herder
Chairman and CEO

Larry’s experience in the industry and his partnership in the Interstates Companies spans 35 years. Larry holds an engineering degree from the University of South Dakota and was the operational leader of the Interstates group for most of his career.

In addition to his present responsibilities as chairman of the board, he also serves in a business development role building relationships with our clients.


Scott Peterson

Scott Peterson
Chief Financial Officer, Interstates;
President, Harbor Group

In addition to his accounting and finance background, Scott provides the Interstates Companies a strategic planning focus. Scott is a certified public accountant and a certified internal auditor. He earned his B.S. in accounting and his M.B.A. from the University of South Dakota in Vermilion, South Dakota.

Prior to joining the Interstates team in 1995, Scott was a public accountant with KPMG and held several positions with Valero Energy, a Fortune 500 firm. He also serves as president of the Harbor Group, Interstates’ holding company.

 

Dave Crumrine

Dave Crumrine
President, Interstates Construction Services

Prior to joining Interstates in 1998, Dave worked extensively in construction management and as a general contractor for a large construction firm.

Dave is a registered professional civil engineer, has a civil engineering and construction management degree from the South Dakota School of Mines, and holds an M.B.A. from Western Michigan University. Dave is a dynamic systems thinker, team builder, servant leader, and people developer.


Jack Woelber

Jack Woelber
President, Interstates Control Systems

When Interstates Controls was established in 1996, Jack was a natural choice as company president. His background in computer programming, combined with his leadership skills, provides a perfect blend of technical and relational expertise to lead and grow Interstates Control Systems.

Jack holds degrees in computer programming from Western Iowa Technical College and in business administration from Bellevue University.

 

Doug Post

Doug Post
President, Interstates Engineering

Doug joined the Interstates group in 1994 after earning his master’s degree in electrical engineering from Iowa State University.

While an undergraduate student at Dordt College (BSEE), Doug interned at Interstates. He is a licensed professional engineer in many states and has played a large role in Interstates Engineering’s inception as a distinct business unit in 1999.

 

Monte Vander Velde

Monte Vander Velde
President, Interstates Instrumentation
With his background as a professional engineer and experience in plant engineering, automation, and instrumentation, Monte was the perfect fit for president of Interstates Instrumentation.

Monte has been with the Interstates Companies since 1994 and played a significant role in launching Interstates Instrumentation as a separate company in 2006.

Monte is a licensed professional engineer with degrees in chemistry from Northwestern College and chemical engineering from Washington University. His skills in setting direction and implementing strategy will provide continual future growth and development of Interstates Instrumentation services.
