January 25, 2007—Sioux Center, Iowa
Larry Den Herder, CEO of the Interstates Companies of Sioux Center, Iowa, has been named the 2007 Chairman of Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of Iowa. Den Herder was sworn in at ABC of Iowa’s Annual Meeting on January 25th in West Des Moines, Iowa.
In this role, Den Herder will be responsible for working collaboratively with the group to set the direction of ABC of Iowa’s strategic vision and providing leadership to the organization throughout the upcoming year.
This is the second time an Interstates CEO has filled this position; Jim Franken, former CEO of Interstates, was ABC of Iowa Chairman in 1989.
In his acceptance remarks, Den Herder said, “My reaction is one of duty and pride. I now have the duty of representing the nearly 400 merit shop contractor-members of the ABC of Iowa association. And, after a 30 year history of being an active ABC member, I have the pride of enjoying the benefits that come with belonging to this construction trade organization.”
